SYOU NAM THAI
ART DIRECTOR/TECHNICAL DIRECTOR
Syou Nam is a multi-disciplinary designer with extensive experience in technical theatre, carpentry, and art installations. During his time as Assistant Technical Director at Kenyon College, he was responsible for managing a team of technicians in producing five theatre productions annually.
Professionally, he has worked on several large-scale international entertainment projects. As a member of the Emmy-winning technical team for NBC Sport's 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics (2021), and 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics (2022), he was responsible for solving on-site logistical issues and providing translations to local counterparts in both Japanese and Mandarin. Syou Nam recently worked in a creative capacity as a crew member on Sunny, an Apple TV+ and A24 joint production.
When he finds time, he experiments with photography books as a narrative tool and enjoys collaborating with fellow artists to produce large-scale artworks. As a Tokyo-ite who studied Pawnee history in Ohio, he embodies the belief that the intersection of seemingly unrelated skills and knowledge generates creative energy.
